Greetings. 5 years ago I started seeing zig zag lines in my right eye when viewing straight items, mother had macular degeneration, eye doctor said to keep an eye on it probably the same. Went last month for new prescription after a year because i felt my vision was not as clear, no abnormalities found. Three days ago I developed a blury spot in the center of my vision of the same eye that has obscured my vision. Did the macular degeneration manifest itself all of a sudden or is it something else. Moving in 1 week have found new eye dr there, but I m worried
The blurry spot that comes in the center of your vision is a type of floater. Floaters have different shapes, squiggly lines, blurry or dark spots, cobwebs, rings or thread-like strands.
Visit ENT specialist, you may be in the danger of losing vision. Get physically examined to rule out Eye diseases, Eye tumors, Diabetic retinopathy, autoimmune diseases or detached retina. Your treatment will depend upon the disease detected.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
